Leonidas Spinoulas was born in Korinthos, Greece, in 1986. He received his Diploma degree in Electrical and Computer Engineering from the National Technical University of Athens, Greece in 2010. In September 2010 he joined Northwestern University, Evanston, IL, USA and the Image and Video Processing Laboratory (IVPL) under the supervision of Prof. Aggelos K. Katsaggelos. He received the M.Sc. degree in Electrical Engineering and Computer Science in 2012. Currently, he is pursuing the Ph.D. degree from the same department.
He has been a Research Assistant (R.A.) with the Image and Video Processing Laboratory (IVPL), Northwestern University as well as a Teaching Assistant (T.A.) for the university. He was the recipient of the best T.A. award of the Department of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science for the period 2011-2012 and the best student paper award at EUSIPCO 2013.
His primary research interests include Compressive Sensing, Sparse Representations, Signal and Image Restoration, Deblurring, Blind Deconvolution, Inverse Problems, Bayesian Methods, Computer Vision and Computational Photography.
